View from Glayva Cottage, Lochcarron
The pretty village of Lochcarron lies on the sea loch of Loch Carron on the
west coast of the Scottish Highlands, a little more than an hour drive from
Inverness. Located in stunning Wester Ross, the village is close to Plockton,
Skye, Torridon, Shieldaig and Applecross.

Glayva Cottage is overlooking the loch, a few hundred metres west of the
Lochcarron Hotel in the centre of village.
By Car

From the south, the quickest route to drive is to take the A9 to Inverness then
continue on the A9 for 5 miles or so past Inverness to the Tore roundabout, where
you take the A835 towards Ullapool for around 15 miles to Garve. Just past Garve
take the left turn (signposted Kyle of Lochalsh A832/A890/A896) and Lochcarron
is well signposted after this turning.

It is also possible to drive between Lochcarron and the south via Glen Coe and
Fort William, this route is even more scenic, although it does take much longer,
and it passes near to Plockton, Kyle of Lochalsh, Skye, the fabulous Eilean Donan
Castle and Kintail.
